I just ran across this incredible artist, Bob Staake. His style is amazing, but his technique is something to see. He has posted a number of videos showing how he creates his work, they are worth seeing, check them from here Bob Staake PixFix. Check out the music too - he did it in GarageBand and is going to release his own CD, which I will be grabbing for sure! Here is a link to his main site-
Fun little quiz:
What's something that you're really proud of, which most people in your life don't know about?

Hmm, tough to choose, but I guess I'd have to say my defeat of the invading Martian Robotic Army back in '85, because most people are unaware that it even occurred, much less that I had anything to do with their defeat.
What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?

Well one of them is our annual viewing of A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott as Scrooge. This is actually one of my favorite roles for Mr. Scott, and is very much my favorite version of a favorite story. And he is a wonderful Scrooge. Also stars another of my favorite actors, David Warner, as Bob Cratchit.
Though this version was made for TV it is well worth seeing. It is genuinely creepy and scary at points, as it should be. I love stories of redemption, and this is one of the best.

What's on your Top 5 video games list?

I'm going to answer this loosely, because some of my favorites are part of a series and I'll take any of the series. I notice others are listing computer games, that's a whole 'nother list, I am keeping this just to *video* games!
- Rez (PS2)
- Ratchet & Clank (PS2) - any of them, love them all
- Burnout (PS2 & XBox) - any of them, though probably Burnout 2 was best, they are getting easier, Burnout 1 was hard!
- SSX 3 (PS2) - I love playing this game just boarding down the hill, not trying to win or beat any time, just swooshing down the hill is very relaxing. There aren't enough relaxing games (or games that can be played in a relaxing manner)
- Okami (PS2) - the last one is tough, all of the ones I left off clamor for attention. So I'll put a new game that I've been loving. Fantastic art direction, fun story, interesting innovations in game design and combat.
I have to add an honorable mention to Wipeout XL for the Playstation. Not for the gameplay, but for the awesome soundtrack that introduced me to some of what is still my favorite music - Orbital, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy (when they were good). What a soundtrack!
Amazingly, the soundtrack CD is still in print - Wipeout XL Soundtrack
